The Best Time Of Year to Buy

The common belief held by the public and the media is that the best time to buy property is in the holiday  period from Thanksgiving to Christmas. Comparing activity during different times of the year is known as “Seasonality”. The graph below refutes that belief. The graph illustrates that sales volume has been consistently low in the months of January and February not in December as commonly believed. The chart shows this was true seven times in the past seven years.

The best time for buyers to buy is in the months of January and February not the month of December. Conversely these two months are the worst two months of the year for sellers to put their homes on the market
